Through process shape forms

As a mixed media artist who makes drawings, prints, books and sculptures, I look to family history and nature for content. My maternal family was from Newburyport, MA and was associated with shipbuilding and the shipping trades, while my paternal family was a family of doctors. Referencing these backgrounds in my work I address scale, form and process to create my world of clusters and accumulations in both 2D and 3D.

Rebekah Lord Gardiner

is a multi-faceted fine artist, creating innovative works in printmaking, drawing, book arts, sculpture, and installation. She is the co-owner of the printmaking studio, Shepherd & Maudsleigh Studio, with Liz Shepherd in West Newton, MA.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Rebekah graduated in 1987 with a BFA in Printmaking from the Philadelphia Colleges of the Arts, now known as the University of the Arts. She also has a certificate in Bookbinding from the North Bennet Street School as well as a Post-Baccalaureate in Fine Arts from Brandeis University.

Rebekah has held various roles in the sculpture, printmaking and letterpress printing fields; as well as being a printer at the Fabric Workshop producing yardage and working with visiting artists. She has been maintaining a studio practice since 2005.
